Two Heroes is the seventeenth episode of the Record of Grancrest War anime series.

Summary

Despite the beseeching pleas of his mage Telius to wait until Marrine reinforcements arrive. Milza plans to sally forth with his army to face off against Theo's forces that have sieged the surrounding area.

Once Milza's army makes their move outside of Castle Unicorn, Petr sends a smoke signal to Theo from his position in the barricades by the castle gate. Milza orders his men to follow him as they take out the southern side of the army and then break through the barricade losing their reinforcements in the process. Lord Alfred's army is the first to face off against Milza's army, but they instantly withdraw once they come in contact with them. Lord Alfred himself flees in a nearby forest with his son, cursing his hopes to gain any merit from his actions there for the next summit was crushed. When asked by his son was is his problem with Theo by his son. The lord answers that Theo is not fit to be a leader as he's a commoner and not of noble lineage. However, due to his charisma of being able to inspire diverse groups of people to take arms, he's spearing heading a new era. One of which, Lord Alfred believes he won't be a part of.

Milza's army easily makes it through the remnants of Lord Alfred's army and then charges head on to the Kihis army lead by Baron Jorgo. The baron writes in his journal until Milza's army closes in, he then readies his own army for the upcoming confrontation with his Crest. In the aftermath, nearly all of the Kihis army was killed and somehow, Lord Jorgo managed to survive and documents the account in his journal. Although Lassic's army was prepared for a confrontation with Milza's forces, they take a detour. It's suspected by Moreno that he's planning to deal with Theo's forces first, so Lassic leads his army to cut him off. Before they're able, they're joined by Selge and his mage Ellet.

Meanwhile, Theo discusses with his volunteer army that since Milza and his forces are too powerful, they can withdraw and leave the battle to the knights and lords. They, however, insist on helping as it's their fight too. Theo acquiesces to their request and activates the power of his Crest to empower all of them. Elsewhere, Milza's forces jump over a barricade and are met by a barrage of arrows. Their leader Milza is confronted by Siluca, Aishela, Emma, Luna, and Irvin. While they manage to pull off a good combo strategy against Milza, it's not enough to bring him down, until Theo makes his move.

With Theo now in the picture, Milza challenges Theo once again to a duel, to which, Theo agrees to, much to Siluca's dismay. The two sides readying themselves by empowering their weapons with their respective Crests and begin their duel. In the said duel, Theo easily faces off against Milza who quickly becomes exhausted during it. Theo then points Milza's attention to the battlefield where his forces have surrendered. Despite this, Milza refuses to give in and attacks Theo only to be disarmed by a single sword strike by his foe. Giving one last chance to Milza to surrender, Theo's offer is refused by Milza who then dies by Theo's sword. As a show of loyalty, Telius drinks a bottle of poison and kills himself to join his master. With Milza dead, his Crest returns to chaos. Theo then rightfully claims it, taking back Villar's Crest.

Far in the outskirts of battle, Marrine with her mage Aubest are shown to have witnessed the entire scene as it played out. Cursing the fact that Milza didn't wait for her reinforcements, Marrine has her men, retreat back north, and hopes that Milza rests in peace.
