Castle Walls is the Twenty-Third episode of the Record of Grancrest Wars anime series.
Summary[]
Within the Mage Academy, Hubertus addresses to Pandora that the Age of Order is nearly upon them. Pandora responds that the Age of Chaos must not end. To that, Hubertus understands and will try everything in his power to prevent it from happening. With the appearance of Dimitrie, a messenger arrives at the scene and reports that the Imperial Army are stationed just outside of the walls of Eramu. To combat this threat, Hubertus orders his messenger to unleash the Cyclops. On a hilltop outside the city, Theo and his comrades scope out the area around the city and the city itself. Knowing full well that casualties cannot be avoided, he still gives out orders on how the war will commence.
Lassic, Moreno, and Lassic's army station themselves in close proximity of the Eramu Castle Walls. Immediately a frozen cyclops is dropped just outside the castle walls and is thawed out by the mages. Moreno then recounts the information he has on the Cyclops, such as its backstory and a way to blind it. Exhilarated by the challenge, Lassic hopes to add it to his list of achievements that he has culminated over time.
Not wasting any time, Lassic confronts the cyclops with his Crest empowered weapon and also accompanied by Moreno, Gluck and an unnamed mercenary. As Moreno begins to cast a magical spell of light at the monster, Lassic and Gluck try to damage the beast. This is proven to be tough as its skin is durable and hard to slice. Amid the battle, Gluck aggros the cyclops causing him to take the lion share of damage from the beast. This distraction allows Lassic to use his sword as a target for the light spell to hit after he tosses it close to the Cyclop's eye and blinds it. Lassic then finishes off the cyclops with his Crest empowered spear. Turning his attention to Gluck, it's revealed that his heart stopped beating and is presumed to be dead. However, moments after that notion, Gluck is revealed to be alive and is stated by him that his brain and lungs stop when he turns to steel. When this skill deactivates they resume working again.
That very night after the cyclops was defeated, the Imperial Army make their move against the city of Eramu. It's not long before the main gate is breached and Hubertus is informed of this outcome as well. He, however, is not unnerved by this as he anticipated this would happen. Right before Theo and Siluca are able to lead the charge into the city. Theo, Siluca, Irvin, Aishela, Luna, and Emma transported to the Forest of Eternal Darkness. Siluca suspects that it was orchestrated by the Vampire King himself.
